This time, Yeung shifts his focus to an elderly lesbian couple, as Angie and Pat seem warmly accepted by friends and family alike. But a life-changing accident brings Angie to increasing conflict with Pat’s family, and exposes the injustices of Hong Kong’s discriminatory legal system and the fragility and hypocrisies of so-called family bonds within Hong Kong’s hyper-capitalistic society. Comprising gliding long takes of down-to-earth, slice-of-life moments, All Shall Be Well once again shows Yeung’s devotion to minutiae, despite the life-and-death stakes involved. This stylistic confidence and career-long interest in queer cinema makes Yeung one of the most precious, vital, and deservedly lauded voices in Hong Kong contemporary cinema.

《從今以後》是導演楊曜愷繼老年同志電影《叔·叔》之後又一力作，在第77屆柏林影展勇奪泰迪熊獎。楊導演今次將焦點從老年男同志移往老年女同志，講述看似獲家人接納的終生伴侶Angie與Pat。但一場意外將激發起Angie與Pat家人的衝突，從而揭露了香港法律制度的歧視與不公，以及香港家庭文化在資本主義社會下如何脆弱與虛偽。即使故事軒然大波，楊導演透過慢移的長鏡頭捕捉瑣碎的生活，再次展露自己對平凡生活觀察入微。強烈的風格與酷兒題材的專長足以印證楊導演是香港當代導演之中最可貴兼值得嘉許的聲音之一。

Director’s bio
Ray Yeung is a Columbia University MFA graduate. He has written and directed four features and eight short films. Ray’s third feature Suk Suk (Twilight’s Kiss) World Premiered at the Busan International Film Festival 2019 and had its European Premiere in Panorama at the Berlin International Film Festival 2020. The film subsequently screened in over 50 film festivals worldwide. Ray is also the Chairman of the Hong Kong Lesbian and Gay Film Festival since 2000, currently the longest running lesbian and gay film festival in Asia.

導演簡介
楊曜愷畢業於哥倫比亞大學藝術學院電影製作碩士課程，迄今編導了四齣長片及八齣短片。他的第三部長片《叔·叔》於2019年釜山國際電影節舉行世界首映，在2020年柏林影展電影大觀單元舉行歐洲首映，其後在全球超過五十個影展放映。楊導演亦從2000年起擔任香港同志影展協會的主席，主辦亞洲當下最長壽的同志電影節。
